Beginning Beekeeping

The 2017 Alabama Master Beekeepers Symposium will be in Clanton, AL February 9, 10,11.

The three day event will be offering classes for the beginning beekeeper. These classes will be lead by Master Beekeepers. All of these classes will be oriented to the entry level of beekeepers with a desire to learn more about this fascinating aspect of nature. Additionally, these classes will be separate from the Master Beekeeper Courses.

The Beginner Beekeeper classes will cover topics such as; Basic Bee Biology, Flowers & Pollination, Hive and beekeeping equipment, Bees-Wasps and Beetles, Hive Management, Honey Harvest, Alabama Law, the Apiary, Where to get Bees, the Hive as a Society. There will also be hands on instruction in the hive. Bring a BEE SUIT.

A Continental Breakfast and Lunch will be provided, included in the Tuition. $60. There must be 20 students enrolled/registered by Januray 14th or the course will be canceled. Contact Gerry Whitaker.
